Get your shovel! Get your bucket! It's Summer!
A lot of people say that some summers are hard. Your parents tell you to go outside but you want to watch TV. I get that. This may not be a problem if you're at the beach or visiting grandparents or friends, but for some kids, summer is laying on their back watching the same TV show over and over again.
Anyway, I'm trying to have the best summer ever. I've been to Disney, the Beach and Universal in two weeks. Now I'm at my grandparents for the rest of the summer so I made a list of things to do that YOU can do too!
1) Make a lemonade stand with a bud. Spend the money wisely!
2) Have a cook-out! Invite some friends and family. The more the better!
3) Go camping with someone. Try to get to know them better by chatting while roasting marshmallows.
4) Find a sport you like and find someone available to do it with you. It can be bowling, baseball, golfing or some other sport.
5) Go to a library and find a book. (I know it sounds boring but trust me, books can be exciting.)
6) Make a club. It can be reading, dancing or anything else you like. If you have a lot of people you like who are free, you can start a girls club!
7) Go rollerskating! Better with a person. Rollerskating is a group sport!
Well, that's just a few, but keep trying to have the best summer ever! Do you have any ideas for the best summer ever? Let me know!

Anna Says Go There -- Epcot's IllumiNations: Reflections of Earth
On my Best Summer Ever! trip I was lucky enough to watch Epcot's IllumiNation firework show on the private floating dock in front of Mexico. The firework show demonstrates the creation and development of the Earth in such a way that makes people stare in awe! On the private dock we watched controllers start and end the show. My family did a count down with the show's manager while 22,000 people watched the show back on the pathway.
The show's manager narrated much of the show to us. We learned so much! As we immersed ourselves in the show he guided us through the motions and parts. He said that the start was a representation of the Big Bang. It started off slow, however it builded up until ... BANG!..sparks flew over our heads and exploded in to a frenzy of craziness. Then everything stops for a moment.
Out of the corner of your eye, floating in the lake, is a sphere, a globe, the Earth. It shows pictures of nature, green grass and plants. In the background, gentle fireworks explode. It slowly transforms in to animals. I enjoyed watching zebras glide on the Earth. It definatly made everyone smile. Finally humans arrived. The fireworks start to cross with each other making it look like a knitted quilt.
Then, it's the celebration. Lantern like fire sits on the surface of the water calm but dramatic. Rainbows of fireworks fly across the sky with affective music. It's showing us, the world and the Earth. The overall effect was illuminating.
The manager also let my sister and I ask questions about the show. He told us that the annual budget for the fireworks for IllumiNations is nearly four million dollars a year. A controller sits atop of the Mexican pavillion's temple--he oversees the show from that high vantage point. A crew spends the entire day from 8 am until 9 pm setting up this amazing show for all of Epcot's guests to enjoy. Once the show begins, and the first firework is set off, everything is run by computers and the performance carries on automatically. However, crew is on hand in case anything goes wrong, though it rarely does.
IllumiNations is an amazing show. If you haven't seen it, put it on your bucket list!

Anna Says Go There--Las Vegas (It's NOT Just for Adults!)
Welcome to Fabulous Las Vegas!
This is a picture of my little sister and me on Fremont Street in Las Vegas. A lot of people think that Vegas is just fun for adults, but I'm going to tell you about 5 cool and fun things kids can do there.
1. Fremont Street--There's not a lot here for kids, but my sister Ellie and I managed to have a blast. The coolest thing about Fremont Street is the Fremont Street experience that includes a super-incredible light and music show. To experience it, just look up! The lights are all around you. You can also zip-line over the street if you are brave enough. It's amazing.
2. The Strip--Walk up and down the strip and look at all the amazing casinos. There's a roller coaster at New York Casino. Across the street, next to the MGM Casino is M&M World where you can stuff a bag full of fun M&Ms in a rainbow of colors.
3. Circus Circus The Adventuredome--Feel like riding on a roller coaster? Well you've come to the right place. In Adventuredome there are lots of rides and games including a roller coaster and a water log ride--all indoors! But I'm warning you, the roller coaster isn't for scardy cats. If you are a scardy cat, you might like the 5D movie theatre, kiddie rides and fun carnival games. I promise you'll want to go again.
4. The Shark Reef at Mandalay Bay--Probably the most amazing thing to do in Las Vegas is the Shark Reef at Mandalay Bay. Here you can get up close and personal with sharks, a komodo dragon, and jelly fish. And you can even shake hands with sting rays and horseshoe crabs (without getting stung!) The glass floors in one of the rooms make it so sharks can swim right under your feet! I've been to a lot of aquariums, all over the world and this was the best ever.
5. Free Shows at Hotels--Several of the hotels have free shows that go on several times a night. At Treasure Island, there is a pirate show where girl and boy pirates battle (the girls win!!!). At The Bellagio, go see the most incredible water fountain you've ever seen. And end your night at the Mirage where you can watch a volcano erupt right before your very eyes!
I hope I've convinced you (and maybe your parents too) that going to Las Vegas can be fun for the entire family! Have you been to Vegas? Tell me about it!
